Well heres what I do I am confident that I have figured out the perfect pregame/ swim/ run.
The day before:
Hydration is possibly the most important part of the day before. By the end of the day you should feel over hydrated, as if you gained a bunch of water weight which you have. When you "go to the restroom" it should be clear. Then drink some more.
The night before: Take a hot bath, it will relax your muscles. If you really want to be like me use eucalyptus also. Get out and listen to music as you fall asleep.
The Day: Wake up make a pound of Bacon and a dozen eggs you need protien and finish it you have to man up. If you have school it can be a pain but its ok it will give you more time to hydrate and get carbs. If its the weekend put on your head phones immediatly.
PreGame: Get big head phones to block out useless talk on the bus. Use the ride home to socialize. At this time dont look at your phone or talk isolate yourself. Turn on the hardest songs you have and get pumped up get testosterone flowing. If your nervous think about this. Think about all great men in history or heroes. I think of Achilles, Teddy Roosevelt, King Loenidas, Odyssues and so on. Look at what they did and I cant even swim a mile come on. Once you have that mentality your ready to tear it up.

2010 Running Season

Runnning is perhaps the most popular way to exercise in todays world. People often have different motivations for running some for the exercise, some do it for the run itself, some do it competitivly. I happen to do it for all three reasons. For the enthuasiast that do it just because they enjoy it or do it competetivly they run year round. But for the other half that do it because they just happen to lift and train to stay in shape its time to start back up spring is closing in.

For those who compete they are well aware of the spring opening up for the runs and marathons. With the Flying Pig the largest marathon in the Cincinnati area coming up in just over two months its getting very real. May2, 2010 is the date of this years Flying Pig marathon. Some of the runners may be thinking about tapering in a month to a month and a half. Cincinnati is pretty well known for running through out the U.S and the season for most starts with the Flying Pig and for most ends with the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure in September. However for the very serious there are events all year round, these athletes may preffer the Flying Pig and the Race for The Cure but they still compete in the dark season of winter. However most serious runners of the elite standards will travel to run all over, even go as far as California for Ultra Marathons.

For many High School and College runners this is the marking of Track and Field and go all the way through Cross Country. If your in College you most likely train year round. BUt for High School athletes there is rules to when you may be coached so they must train themselves. Those most who are dedicated do so whil others simply do not have the time.
The ones who do it to stay in shape and to train for other sports the time starts when it gets warm enough. That is fast aproaching February is almost over and the snow is starting to melt. Spring air is moving in and day light will last longer. So there is more available time for training and the sunset just sets the running mood.
So get your shoes and start warming up for the nine months of the year that seem to matter most. Good luck.

Top 20 Movies and Movie Series Ever Made

1. Its not over until you give up, but you have to know when to give up.

2. Competition is a good thing it keeps you honest, you have to be honest especially with yourself

3. Comercial diets do not work heres what you need stenious excercise and to lessen the carbohydrate and fat intake. Not completely just enough to continue your work outs.

4. Procrastination is healthy when used at the right times dont be like me and wait to long to barely have a chance at college.

5.Your mind is the strongest tool you will ever hold and its one of the strongest tools of nature.

6. A small pizza is too small. (Yeah thats a metaphor figure it out)

7. Read closely some questions are worded wierd it will mess you up.

8. Dont spend money because you have it.

9. Pay attention when people are explaining things especialy directly to you its important and it is how you learn. Dont learn the hard way.

10. Being stubborn can be good sometimes, but you have to know when.

11. Listening to instinct is very important we are animals all of us we survive of instinct.

12. If it looks to high to jump off of dont jump let someone else try. But do not fear pain or being hurt it is part of life. With out pain there is no pleasure or anything good out of life.

13. When bored dont go to another friend whose bored nothing will get done. HOwever those times seem to be the best sitting around complaining to a friend that thier is nothing to do. Those moments make the moments when we are busy just right or when to busy we can look back on them and laugh. (Ill take that back)

14. YOu had to be there stories are the best because the other person cant join you in histarically laughing.

15. When you have to laugh in class and your not supposed to it makes it far worse you should play it off all tough it seems impossible.

16. Its good to stop and look around and take in scenery of a place and just open your senses and take it all in.

17. Get in touch with the arts all of them because they are emotions expressed by the artist and you can relate to certain pieces during certain periods of life and except things.

18. Life is all about the journey not where you are goin but getting there. (it sounds cleshay but its true).

19. Freshman need to calm down they are chaotic. Seriously its important.

20. THings never go as planned and are not what you expect. SO be ready.

Life is short very short almost non existant, in a time scale of the universe it is almost invisible. The average person lives to about 75 thats short, life is a ride that you must accept it is too short to not enjoy. So live thats our one job, live life. Because life is a miracle, for a planet to sustain life it cant be to close yet not to far from a perfect size star. Im not one of those people who say birth is a miracle, it is but also a terrible process i wont go into. But life is a miracle and it is short, we were born to a perfect planet. It is our duty to walk this earth and explore and learn everything we can. I could write a book on these rules I could have thousands but these seemed important. Take them and live this miracle.

Winter Sports

Norwood High School is expecting to start this season off strong. Will we finish strong? Of course I would like to say yes but lets look at this with an open mind. Do we ever really finish strong? It seems like no, Norwood is a laughing stock to the world of athletics and I am so tired. We are better than that look at our athletes your goin to tell me none of our sports (besides soccer got to give it up for them) can pull off a winning season. We seem to only compete with people in Norwood. Yeah so your better than Josh who cares what about the guy from Moeller. Of course ill here the excuse "but Moeller recruits people" yes but they also work five times harder. We are to good to just sit back and get beat down this season all of us. No matter your sport lets get it. Get up go to practice and work, its not easy but we're to good for this.
Just look at our athletes most are "average" yet our best barely stack up to other schools its time they look at us and say "Good D Good D". Thats the least we can get from these schools. Sure division 1 will be better but we should take division 2 schools everytime. Seriously we can do this lets send a few more people to districts and state we have what it takes we just refuse to give it everything. Our everything is to good so lets get it.

Watchmen: The Book

My first blog entry was on the semi-recent release of DC comics movie Watchmen. However the movie was based on the DC's original graphic novel which was way, way ahead of its time. Realeased in September 1986- October 1987 it was a twelve part comic book series and is now relevant in the Twenty first century more than ever.
I finally read it, kind souled Drew Reagle allowed me to borrow it, I had to let him borrow Batman RIP as a trade. It was a good trade two had to read novels. The watchmen book is far more intense than the movie. With the intense story line (Read first blog to get the story) it has rugged characters. The theme of the story simply is, the worlds full of wrong doing and people turned away from heroes when they needed them the most. It shows the rough side of heroes and it is awsome. The whole story was to show the wrong side of society. To unvail the sacrifice of heroes in a real world. The world falling apart and not even heroes will save it because they were outcasted. "Is this what happens to us? No time for friends, only our enemies leave roses? Violent lives ending violently." as Rorshack put it so cleverly. This revolutionized graphic novels, it was a way of stepping out and changing the way heroes are seen. The entire book is forshadowing the way the world has become in the past 20 years since it was written. Watchmen is a realy thought prevoking book it puts you in deep though. 5out of 5 stars.

Facebook

Why is it so awsome, everybody is addicted to facebook. No matter the age young or old people cant stop. Is it because all the different things you can do. You can talk to anyone in the world, I still talk to friends in Florida. People stay connected with old class mates, team mates, and just people you have talked to before. Some people have friends they havent ever said a word to but there still friends on facebook. Everybody is on facebook, people have thousands of friends. My mom has a facebook and my aunts have facebooks, ex swim coaches and really any name you look up.
You can get news feeds from movie, music, and anything you become a fan of. I am a fan of 30 things I get so many useless feeds I turned them off. But if you like that then its a good thing. You can join groups and go to discussion boards and argue on a topic of your choice. People join irrelevant groups all of the time. Groups like "If 1 million people join this group my girlsfriend will let me change the house into a pirate ship" completly irrelevant to everything. But people have fun facebook is like your own website but better. Its like myspace but five times better. In fact ive been on facebook this entire time its great seriously get one.

2012

According to rumor the world will end on December 21, 2012. A Rumor plain and simple, the Mayan calender is supposed to run out. It is said that once the calender runs out so does our time, specifically on this date. Enthusiast have found astronomical allignments that coincide with 2012. Most scientist and Mayans disagree with the theorie. It's just another doomsday theory like when the new millenium came in everyone thought the worlds computers would fail and missles would fly where ever.
One basis for the theorie is in a ruin found in Mexico during constructing a new high way in the 60s. Half of the tablet was missing because it was looted. Its strange because the surviving half stated a strange occurance dealing with Bolon Yokte the Mayan god of war and creation. He will Decend from the sky. However there are also dates far beyond 2012 one date is even 4772.
Another theory is that every year the earths axis wobbles, changing how the stars are aligned. The sun will seem to rise on the horizon where we see the center of the milkyway. Yeah but astronomers say the allignment doesnt occur exactly in 2012. Every time we say the world will end it doesnt. In fact it could end tomorow meteors fly by our atmosphere everyday. We live on the edge of natural disaster. Its life believe what you want.

The Music Industry

Is breaking down, when is the last time we heard something new. Everytime you turn on the radio another song that sounds like the last. There are few good artist left which I could probably make a list of. You shouldnt be able to make a list. Record companies give deals to anybody these days, I'm tired of hearing Disney artist on the radio. It seems that if your on tv all of thesudden you can sing.
Rocks dieing slowly but surely. Bands lately seem to sing about the same types of things. Honetly I dont know what that is I dont listen very long. People sing for money and fame instead of the art its self. Rock is supossed to have a strong sound with epic lyrics with a meaning. I havent seen that lately.
Rap what happened, these new artist lack lyrical strength and a purpose. Most of the artist people like now I hate. Rap lately uses stupid annolgies just to find a way to rhyme. The new artist dont dig deep and fnd away to make you think. When is the last time there was actually a fued. When there is a fued thats when the rap gets serious and thats when its rap. There is probably a list of 10-15 artist that still stay strong as rappers. Occasionaly they have a bad song or the bad artist have a good one. Over all they industry is dieing off and theres not much I can do but listen to whos good and not look in th direction of the weak.
Country... Not a huge fan but still its getting to be just like the other genres. Its hard to discribe but first off there repetative and there isnt very many realy good country voices left. Also the music is getting more modern and almost soft rock not even country.
It's like the artist are trying to invent new styles but its almost impossible alll styles have been invented theres not much left people have masterd music and they cant take it to the next level.

Giant Birds Hunted Humans

A new computer scan brought researchers into the world of the Haast's Eagle. A fossil scan of the eagle which went extinct only 500 years ago. The bird lived in Mountainus New Zealand and wieghed 40 pounds. The scan revealed it was no scavanger as once thought to be. The Haast's Eagle which is much larger than todays eagle would hunt on flight less birds and even an unfortunate human. Scientist did a cat scan of several skulls, pelvis, beaks in order to reproduce the exact size og the eyes, brain and other features. After comparing it to modern scavenging birds it was in fact a predator which ate moa birds and humans.
Scientist say it went extinct because of habitat destruction and polynesian settlers made hunted its prey to extinction. 750 years ago in New Zealand before humans colonies the Moa and Hasst were the largest animals on the Island. The scientist now say the mythology of the native Maori people have some truth to them. The tales tell of a large bird Pouaki could swoop down on children and attack people. Jamie R Wood a researcher of the Moa said that the expirement supports the rapid growth and evolution of the Haast's Eagle. That it may be the fastest example of evolution possible.

The Human Genome

National Geographic Society and IBM teamed up together to find the journey of Human beings and find where it all started. The project was called The Genographic Project they went to the 30th Street Festival of July 2008. Walking around getting cheek swabs from the gums in there mouth. They focus on the Y chromosome passed down through everyman ever born, the Mitochondial Dna that was passed down from women. They found that 200,000 years ago we Started in East Africa. We were born from "Cavemen" slowly and uncertainly evolving into Homosapien. Homosapien is the Latin name (Genus) of humans, it means wise man. We were complex while life was basic live and reproduce. However there is only one tiny chromosone that depicts the sex of a person.

During the festival 193 people were swabbed and found that they represent the major migrations across the globe. The only lineage missing was the oldest which was found in a Khoisan hunter gatherer in South Africa. Which about 100,000 years ago diverged from modern humans. Many unmixed cultures are rare most populations like queens have been mixing DNA for centuries. Most race in the future will disapear with all DNA reproducing and with overpopulation. Some many people reproduce with people from different races that the Y chromosome will reproduce with more and more just like it. Earasing race, color and most physical differences.

This was based on the article in National Geographic September 2009.

Beat Purcell

Many people probally don't realize why Purcell is our rivals, it's not coincidence we did'nt pick there name out of a hat. It all started a long time ago in a land down the street where Holy Trinity used to be. Where Cavaliers and Indians played kickball on the play ground together. Not realizing that soon a fued would spark. Most people are still good friends but they refuse to watch there team lose to their friends team. It was no longer just a game it was about beating there friends team.
Growing up I went to Holy Trinity I thought I was going to go to St. Xavier for high school. Instead I moved to Florida came back and went to Norwood. Since then I have actually seen the rivalry and I think about why but I figured it out. Mostly because people grew up together at the same school and then split up. So now your friends are on the other side so now your new friends are with you and against them. The parents are even in on it see while living in Norwood I realize most adults no each other often threw Holy Trinity. Now kids have split up and theres always trash talking.
A person I happen to know when asked she said "Because they are kinda close to each other, there like the same size there both diverse and Purcell is just awsome Norwood wishes they were like them" That is my friend (cousin) Sidny Henges who if you cant tell goes to Purcell. If you have a problem tell her at the game. Yet suprissingly she brings up a good point that we are similar perhaps its just a fair game. If you havent gone Its usualy a fantastic game and its good to see people I know on both teams fighting it out.
So why exactly, well it's mostly because Purcell and Norwood socially interact. I know people that go to Purcell and they know people at Norwood Its a big circle. Of good old fashion rivalary.

Watchmen

The watchmen was based on the Dc comics graphic novel. It hs been called the greatest grphic novel of all time. Now I didnt read that instead I watched the movie. I heard it was terrible so I watched just to say I have and I of course liked it. I would give it four stars, it was well produced and the story was good. The story had very real aspects to it and the hereos had rough morals that seemed to help deliver the story. When being a superhereo became illegal they stopped except Rorshack who believe it was his job to clean the streets. Then they came out of retirement to stop another ex-hero from ending the world, all while breaking Rorshack out of prizon. I dont want to ruin it for those who havent seen yet but you need to go see it. However most people I talk to say they dont like it. I suppose it was a little much, theres some nudity and it could offend some people.
It had strong morals about how humans are wrong and we ruin things and power is corruption. Also how noone can realy save them from themselves. I felt it was a strong point, my cousin said he didnt like it. The message was dumb he didnt want it to be so real. It was strong but just strong enough to make you think about it.
My favorite character by far was Rorshack he was all around strong. First off his voice is perfect for the character, he fit the story how he was supposed to. He was played by Jackie Earle Haley or as some know him as Dukes from Semi Pro, or Freddie Kruger of 2010 in Nightmare on Elm St. ANother Character was Night Owl who dressed as an owl played by Patrick Wilson from Lakeview Terrace. Either you loved or you hated him, I personally disliked him I wont ruin the story but he does things that are just not cool. The other that I happened to like was Dr.Manhattan played by Billy Crudup or J Edgar Hoover in Public Enemies. He was the blue guy that controlled time and space. It was a substantial acting job he had zero emotions and was an apethetic genius who didnt care yet he soundded depressed. All the other parts were good acting all and I would say go see it.
